weber.therm style glass convinced the jury
The glass thermal insulation composite system weber.therm style glass was awarded the coveted red dot award 2014: Product Design.
The "red dot design award" is awarded by an international jury to products and projects which set themselves apart from comparable solutions through their high design quality.
In modern architecture, glass is a popular material for the design of facades. Up to now, however, it was only possible for glass facades to be constructed in the form of a non-supporting curtain wall. These are not optimal from an energetic point of view, as thermal bridges cannot be avoided. The building materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain Weber has succeeded for the first time in gluing large format glass elements onto a thermal insulation composite system. As a result, architects and developers no longer need to make a choice between energy efficiency and glass facade.
In Hamburg in 2013, during the International Building Exhibition IBA, the innovative Waterhouses were created using weber.therm style glass. Over a continuous layer of insulation, layers of plaster and glass elements alternate and thereby create an attractive contrast.
